Bag Rubbish Collection
The trial rubbish collection by paper bags at Bishopdale, the Waimairi County Council decided last evening, should be extended until March 31. The assistant county engineer (Mr J. D. Annan) said that the trial'was due to end on August 27, but the suppliers of the bags, New Zealand Forest Products, Ltd, had asked that the trial be extended to the end of the financial year. The firm had offered to supply free 5000 of the 9000 bags required for the extension, so the cost to the council would not exceed $3OO.
