BOAT FOR MOTUNAU
A new crayfish boat designed to cruise at a minimum speed of 15 knots is ! being constructed by Stark ’Brothers of Lyttelton, to the ’order of Mr K. Taylor, of. ’Christchurch, who will work out of Motunau. The kaurihulled boat has a shallow draft for working the Motunau bar. She is 30ft long, with a beam of 15ft, and is powered by a 145 h.p. singlescrew diesel engine. She will be launched on Saturday week.
Police Transfers.—lnspector L. W. R. O’Neill, of the police prosecution branch in Christchurch, will move to Auckland soon and Sergeant D. W. Boyd, of Dunedin, will move to Lyttelton soon. The Lyttelton station will then be staffed by a senior-sergeant, two sergeants, and three con- > stables.
