THE REMAINS OF THE PAROTO, which was wrecked on Gibson Point, at the south end of Gore Bay, Cheviot, on August 3, 1966, and still of interest to visitors. The weather-battered remains dominate the view of the point from the bay. In April, 1968, heavy seas split the wreck in two, and since then the wheelhouse (shown above) and the bow have lain 60ft apart.
