4 young player worth watching
'THE national K Cup tourx nament for women's hockey is now only a few weeks away and one of the Canterbury players whose progress is being watched closely is the Burnside High School pupil, Miss J. Mouat Mpuat, who plays senior hockey for the Burnside club, is having her first sea-
son in the Canterbury A team but last year represented Canterbury B in a tournament at Gore. Mouat began her hockey at Cobham Intermediate School and when she entered Burnside captained her third form team against other schools. She started playing Saturday hockey at the third grade when she was in the fourth form and the next year went into the senior grade. She was also a member of the Canterbury Secondary Schools hockey team
which beat Malvern and Ashburton teams. Mouat’s interest in hockey undoubtedly stems from her mother, Mrs D. Mouat, a former Canterbury and New Zealand hockey player who is the coach of the Burnside club.
