Clyde Road Lights
Sir,—l support Mr Crowley’s remarks on the present dangers for pedestrians at the Fendalton Road-Clyde Road intersection. Like Mr Crowley, I consider it far safer to cross well away from the comer. Mr Rich’s explanations are really beside the point as they offer no help to the unfortunate pedestrian at this comer. If the Waimalri Council’s traffic department considers it impossible to have a complete plan for pedestrians, at least it might consider the installation of another relay which would give, say, a 10-second delay in the green light coining on after the pedestrian “Cross now” comes up. At present they both go on together and this is the danger.—Yours, etd, R. H. T. HAMILTON. July 4, 1969.
