THE STATE DRAWING-ROOM OF OSBORNE HOUSE, Queen Victoria’s favourite country retreat, designed by Thomas Cubitt and built in 1845-1848. The picture is on the dust-jacket of “Victorian Furniture,” by Simon Jervis (of the Victoria and Albert Museum), and published by Ward Lock. This book, consisting chiefly of pictures with succinct informative letterpress, will be appreciated by many sharing the current revival interest in Victorians. The main section of the book consists of a collection of high-quality photographs illustrating the main styles, and includes important museum specimens and exhibition pieces.
