Visit By Nurse From Japan
. A Japanese nurse, Miss Motoyo Yamaguchi, has been awarded a scholarship by the New Zealand Red Cross Society for six months post-basic nursing experience in New Zealand, with emphasis on pediatrics. Miss Yamaguchi is assistant to the head nurse in charge of the premature baby room at the Red Cross Musashino Hospital in Tokyo. She is also responsible for guidance to student nurses. Later this month Miss Yamaguchi will begin four weeks observation at Christchurch Women’s Hospital, followed by four weeks in the pediatric unit at Christchurch Hospital. She will also spend three weeks observing at Plunket clinics and at Karitane Hospital and one week at the psychopaedic ward at Templeton Hospital.
