Current special interests 1 lie in the fields of electro- ’ chemistry, including gaseous ■ electrochemistry, fluid dyna- • mics, mechanical behaviour of s materials, especially metals, and the accompanying subatructural changes. The Department is interested in extending j its range of activities into other gelds of chemical and materials engineering, in particular, but not solely, pulp and paper, polymers, and elastomers. It has recently taken possession of new laboratories and is in process of equipping these. CIVIL ENGINEERING In general, the applicant, for these vacancies should have advanced degrees or specialist professional experience for ap-, pointment at Senior Lecturer level. However In Structure, and Fluid Mechanics, applicants will • be welcomed for Junior Lee- • tureships. The duties would include some lecturing in electrical engineering subjects, tutorial work and the running of some laboratory course,. The field, in which research could readily be undertaken are: An- . tenna research; application ot I digital method, to system simulation and control; and Radio Astronomy at metre wavelengths.
