Commencing salaries will depend on qualifications, training and experience. For Engineering Assistants the salary would be in the range $2640 p.a. to $3005 p.a. The holder of a New Zealand Certificate of Engineering would be paid In the range $2BBO p.a. to $3240 p.a. and in addition be paid $BO p.a. for the qualification. In both scales there is opportunity of further advancement by board resolution. For a Chainman the salary will be $2186 p.a., rising to $2255 p.a. after a period of satisfactory service. The Board has a policy of adopting Ruling Rate Survey awards. After five years service a service bonus becomes payable.
