PUBLIC NOTICES KAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL ESTIMATES FOR YEAR ENDING MARCH 31, 1970. PURSUANT to Section 92 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1954, the following estimates of Receipts and Payments for the financial year commencing April 1, 1969, and ending March 31, 1970, are hereby published, having been approved by the Kaiapoi Borough Council at its meeting held on Monday, June 23, 1969. PAYMENTS I Administration 20,400 Borough Works, including Streets, Footpaths, Channels, Rubbish Collection, etc 102,185 Parks, Reserves, Municipal Buildings, Town Planning, Fire Protection, etc. . 26,400 Grants, Subscriptions, Library and Miscellaneous 18,545 Sewerage Loans, Repayment, Interest Charges, and System Maintenance .. 24,000 Other Accounts .. 50,410 $241,940 RECEIPTS $ Rents 30,650 Licences, Commissions and Recoveries .. 6,600 Royalties 12,500 Transfers from Other Accounts .. 42,097 National Roads Board Subsidies 27,065 Miscellaneous, sale of land, deposits, etc. 49,520 Additional required from proposed rates on a total rateable value of $1,831,635 73,210 $241,642 NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Kaiapoi Borough Council at a meeting to be held on Monday, July 21, 1969, to make and levy the undermentioned rates for the period April 1, 1969, to March 31, 1970, upon the Rateable Unimproved Value of all rateable properties as are shown in the Valuation Rolls now in force in the Borough of Kaiapoi. 1. A General Rate of Two Decimal Eight, Seven, Eight, Two Cents (2.8782 c in the $ made pursuant to Section 90 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1954, and the Rating Act, 1957. 2. A Sewerage Rate of one decimal two, nough, nough, one cents (1.2001 c in the $. 3. Pursuant to a Special Order of the North Canterbury Catchment Board, the following rates as directed to be made and levied, such rates having been adjusted to unimproved value rating:— (a) An Administration Rate of Decimal Nought, four. nine cents (.049c) in the $. (b) A Waimakariri-Eyre-Cust Area (Class B) Rate of Decimal One, Seven, Eight Two cents (.17820 in the $. IT IS HEREBY PUBLICLY NOTIFIED that the whole of the aforesaid rates will be payable at the Office of the Kaiapoi Borough Council on the 27th day of August, 1969, also that a rebate of five per cent (5%) will be allowed off that portion of the Consolidated rate in lieu of the General Rate paid on or before the 26th day of September, 1969, and further that pursuant to Section 71 of the Rating Act, 1967, a penal charge of ten per cent (10%) will be added to all Current Rates NOT PAID ON OR BEFORE THE 27TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1970.
