Warm Weather Causes Fall

WELLINGTON, July 4. Warm weather caused slow trading on Smithfield Market, London, this week, the meat board says. There was a reduced demand for New Zealand lamb, which sold at slightly easier prices. Quotation for the main grade (prime 29/36 lb) were 33d, or jd lower than last week.

There was a moderate enquiry for light pitchings of New Zealand mutton. The main grade of hoggett (49/56 lb) was quoted at 23d to 24d and wether was 20d to 21d. Ewe mutton was quoted at 17d to 18d.
