287 Contracts In Five Years

The Christchurch Drainage Board can justly claim to be the most active local authority carrying out capital works pro* grammes in the South Island.

Many of the Christchurch Drainage Board’s flood relief measures have to await the results of detailed investigations such as that being undertaken by the Hydraulics Research Station at Wallingford, England. There, a model of the Estuary has been built and with the control equipment shown it is possible to simulate on the model conditions in and around the Estuary.
