Horse Society Two-day Event
Competitors came from as far afield as Gore for the two-day event organised by the Canterbury area junior committee of the New Zealand Horse Society and held at Eyreton at the week-end.
This two-day event was the first of its kind in the South Island, and was very popular with both competitors and the large number of spectators. Results were:
Horses: I. C. Bell's Teaka (Rakaia), 27 penalty points, 1; Mrs R. R. Bain and Miss D. White’s Hunter’s Moon (Rangiora), 28, 2; M. McCall’s Pegasus (Gore), 34, 3: Miss M. Gould's Ribbonwood (Christchurch), 44, 4; M. Cornwall’s Starbridge (Ashburton). 51, 5.
Ponies: Miss E. McGrath’s Pharaoh (Christchurch), 62 penalty points, 1; Miss R. Harvey’s Moana (Greenpark), 76, 2: Miss R. Short’s Ni Roamer (Christchurch),- 88, 8: Miss A. Lemon’s Bambi (Ashburton). 110, 4; M. Burgess’s Tally Ho (Chrlstchurch), 111, 5.
