Good Trial At Wingatui

“The Press” Special Service

DUNEDIN. My Era and Dark Supreme were two of the most impressive trialists at Wingatui yesterday when the final gallops for the Oamaru Jockey Club’s meeting were held in fine but cold weather on heavy tracks. My Era was by no means the fastest runner of the morning, but impressed by the manner in which he came through his task.

He was ridden by his race rider, A. K. Robinson, and accompanied by his stablemate, Desert Flair (Wright), over half a mile on the outside of the course proper in 58 2-ssec, the opening furlong in 13 2-ssec. Banway (Pankhurst) drew attention to his prospects in the Trial Stakes when he ran half a mile in 57sec, the first furlong in 13 2-ssec.

In Doubt (Craig) and his stablemate, Bank Again (Mee), were together in 57 4-ssec, the first furlong in 13 2-ssec.

Resmart (B. P. Kennedy) and Bradwood (McAra) were on terms in 58 l-ssec, the first furlong in 14 l-ssec.

David Porter (Mee) and Beau Bevan (Apes) ran five furlongs in a shade under Imin llsec, the first two furlongs in 26sec.

In one of the few trials on the sand Dark Supreme, ridden by his trainer, J. R. Dowling, impressed by the manner in which he ran clear of his stablemate, Pee Wee (Brown), at the end of five furlongs in Imin lOsec, the first two furlongs in 28sec.
