HEATHCOTE ROAD WORK
Spending on roadworks in the Heathcote county will be increased by 26 per cent this year.
Estimates approved last evening allow for expenditure of $118,313, of which $95,863 will qualify for a National Roads Board subsidy. Much of the Increased spending will be on work required under the regional reading plan.
Soccer Trip.—The Auckland Football Association has accepted an invitation to send a team to play two matches in Tahiti, on August 17 and 24.
