SEARCH IN SNOW

No Sign Of Constable (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 2. Conditions on Mount Holdsworth worsened today, when 80 men continued the search for the missing Wellington constable, Lester John Tweeddale. Snow was falling heavily down to 700 feet

Inspector C. R. CotterreU, search controller at police headquarters in Wellington, said tonight that hopes were still held at finding Constable Tweeddale alive. “We are aware of the terrible conditions but a person who has found a cave, covered himself with pine needles, and is in the fit condition that Lester was in when he went into the bush has every hope of survival,” Inspector Cob terrell said.

The search team was today covering an area of Mount Holdsworth between 3000 ft and 4500 ft but there was no sign of the missing man. Six more parties are to leave Wellington at 7 ami. tomorrow.
