Robbery At Hotel
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 18. A man leapt over the bottle store counter in the Rising Sun Hotel, Karangahape Road, last night, struck the assistant manager, Mr A. Edwards, on the head and made off with about $lOO from the till. Mr Edwards was serving a customer in the bottle store about 6 p.m., the manager, Mr F. A. Reid, said today. He turned around and saw the man taking money from the till. When Mr Edward tried to stop the man, he was struck on the head with a fist.
