FAILING TO ACCOUNT 39 Charges Admitted (N Z Press Association) HASTINGS. June 17. Robert Douglas Warren, a former secretary-treasurer of both the Hastings branch of the Labour Party and of the Hawke’s Bay Labour Picnic and Sports Committee, admitted in the Magistrate's Court this morning that he stole 54251.75 from the two organisations. Warren, aged 44, a factory worker, of Hastings, admitted 39 charges involving the organisations. He admitted six charges of failing to account for money belonging to the Labour Party branch, involving a total of $3375.97. Four charges of failing to account for money belonging to the Labour Day Pienic and Snorts Committee were also admitted. Amounts totalling $875.68 were involved. The remaining 29 charges consis ted of 15 of forgery and 14 of uttering.
