Wrong Co. Named
In a report, published in “The Press” on Saturday, of the judgment of Mr Justice Macarthur concerning a debenture executed by A. R. Mackay, Ltd, in favour of Farmers’ Finance, Ltd, it was stated that Mr A. R. Mackay had told his fellow directors that Farmers’ Finance was unable to meet its obligations. This was incorrect. His Honour actually said: “On June 20, 1967, however, Mackay told his fellow directors that the company [A. R. Mackay, Ltd] was now unable to meet its obligations because he himself had misappropriated an estimated £40,000 of the funds of the company.”
