Subpoena Quashed
A court in Melbourne quashed yesterday a subpoena served on the Acting Victorian Premier (Sir Arthur Rylah) by a student conduct, ing his own defence against charges of rioting. The judge overruled the subpoena on the grounds that Sir Arthur Rylah could not give evidence relevant to the case before the court. The student, Albert Langer, 20, of Deakin Hall, at Monash University, Melbourne, i? charged with rioting, inciting to riot and obstructing police at the American Consulate in suburban Prahran on July 4—American Independence Day—last year. —Melbourne, June 14.
