British Nurse Freed
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, June 16. A British nursing volunteer, Miss Sally Goatcher, aged 28, has been freed by the Biafran authorities, the Foreign - Office in London has announced. Miss Goatcher arrived in Libreville, the capital of Gabon, yesterday, and was met by a British representative from Yaounde, Cameroon. The Foreign Office has no other information other than a cable saying that she had arrived safely and would be
leaving for Britain as soon as possible. When Miss Goatcher was arrested two weeks ago after straying into Biafran territory, the authorities said she would be charged with entering Biafra illegally and without travel papers. ' A volunteer nurse for the Save the Children Fund, Miss Goatcher had been working in a pediatric clinic in the Arikpo area, controlled by Federal forces. The British Prime Minister (Mr Harold Wilson) had issued a warning to the Biafrans that it would be a very serious matter if the nurse were to be charged or held for trial.
