Increase Examples

Cr H. P. Smith, chairman of the City Council finance committee, gave examples last evening from which ratepayers can calculate their own demands under the new rates.

case the council’s general amalgamated rates will increase by 10.13 per cent and the water rate by 10 per cent. The rates levied by other local bodies account for varying percentage increases in the over-all rating demand.
