C.P.D. Profit Almost Steady
The group net profit of Cable, Price, Downer, Ltd, Wellington, heavy engineer and contractor, fell about sBooo—or 0.8 per cent—to 8871,000 in the year to March 31, the directors announce in a preliminary report.
They say this represents a return of 10.9 per cent on ordinary capital and 6.2 per cent on shareholders’ funds.
The recommended dividend is 5 per cent, making a steady 10 per cent for the year. The payment will take $741,000, and is covered 1.2 times.
The directors also reported that the total reserves of the group now exceed $5.9m.
The annual meeting will be held on August 26.
