AD HOCBODY MEMBERS
Suggestion By Waimairi (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 10. Members of ad hoc authorities should be appointed by local body authorities, said Mr J. Reid, of the Waimairi County Council, Christchurch, in a paper presented to the annual meeting of the Institute of County Clerks today. Everyone was aware of the lack of interest displayed by voters in the election for members of special purpose authorities, he said. His suggestion would be called undemocratic but he saw it emerging as the pattern of the future. To have its full value, the
representative would have to be a member of the council by whom he was nominated. A council would have to have sufficient members to carry out these duties. .
