Burger Confirmed
The Senate yesterday confirmed Judge Warren Earl Burger as the new Chief Justice of the United States despite complaints that the confirmation hearings were being rushed through the Senate. The Senate confirmed Mr Burger by a 74-to-3 vote less than a week after he was unanimously approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee. I—Washington, June 10.
