Trials champion to visit N.Z.
The British motor-cycle trials champion, S. H. Miller, will be making a brief visit to New Zealand in either July or August He is being sponsored on a world tour by the Spanish Bultaco motor-cycle factory in an effort to boost interest in one-day trials. It is not yet known whether Miller will come to Christchurch but this is likely considering the strength of the sport here. He plans to run training schools in the countries he visits and will give demonstrations on a standard production Bultaco Sherpa trials machine.
His first stop will be at Pittsburgh in America on July 5 and 6. From America, he will move on to Canada and then to New Zealand and Australia. He will return to England in time for the Manx two-day trial on August 30 and 31. One of the world’s most brilliant trials riders, Miller is a works rider for the Bultaco factory. He has dominated the English trials scene for about a decade and shows no signs of falling from his pedestal. His visit to New Zealand should prove a great boost for trials riding.
