LIBRARIANS’ EDUCATION
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 3. A five-man working party to inquire into education for librarianship has been set up by the Government, the Minister of Broadcasting (Mr Adams-Schneider) said in a statement on behalf of the Minister of Education. The working party would report to the Minister within three months on the present facilities used in educating librarians and any necessary changes. At present there is a year of post-graduate training available at the Library School, or a part-time course at under-graduate level for assistant librarians.
