Malaysian Supplies (N.Z. Press Association) CANBERRA, June 30. Australia has agreed to provide military equipment recently requested by the Malaysian Government, the Prime Minister (Mr John Gorton) announced today. A statement issued by Mr Gorton said the supplies sought by Malaysia were of a type already being provided under the existing AustraliaMalaysia defence programme. They included communications equipment, life-jackets, rifles and small boats for patrolling inland waterways. The Malaysian Director of National Operations and Defence Minister (Tun Abdul Razak) announced that light arms and equipment for the expansion of Malaysia’s military forces would arrive shortly by air from Britain and India.
