Mr Cracknell Re-elected
(N.Z. Press Aasoelotion) WELLINGTON, May 18. The leader of the Social Credit Political League (Mr V. F. Cracknell), member of Parliament for Hobson, today had his leadership unanimously endorsed by the league's annual conference. The deputy leader, Mr J. B. O'Brien, was also re-elect-ed. In a three-way contest, a Wanganui undertaker, Mr P. J. Dempsey, was elected president with the victory pledge that a Social Credit Government would distribute among New Zealanders “the bounty of God without debt.” Two of the vica-presidents —Mrs A. E. Knox, Bay of Plenty, and Mr F. J. C. Morgan, Miramar—were not returned. The four new vice-presl-dents elected today were: Mr J Barclay, Papanui; Mr J. A. Gray, Otaki; Mr G. Greig, Invercargill; and Mr A. Mikkelson, Piako. (Conference, Back Page.)
