"The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. Sun Bank has developed filling in a foreleg and is a doubtful starter in the. Winter Hurdles at Te Rapa tomorrow. So also Is his stablemate, Untouchable, In the same event. It was decided by his trainer late last evening that Ironbank would run In the Seddon Hurdles. He will probably miss racing at Paeroa next Wednesday. La Perouse is a doubtful starter In the Gordonton Plate. The T.A.B. concession double will be run on the President’s Handicap, for which Proud Chief is favoured, and the Flying Mlle. The weather yesterday was overcast, and the going dead. Several sound sprint trials were recorded yesterday morning by candidates for the Southland Racing Club’s winter meeting at Invercargill tomorrow. Of the handicap horses, Chango and his stablemate, Ibn, were the most Impressive. Waterfront did best of the sprinters, while Big Fellow, First Son, and Drifting were others seen to advantage. The course proper was open, with the trestles 25 feet out. The going was heavy, but the track was drying out. Timing was possible only over the last three furlongs. First Son and Big Dipper went together from the mile and a quarter, and ran in from the three furlongs In 40 4-ssec, the last two in 27 l-ssec. Big Fellow was tood good for Rimu Lass over three furlongs In 38 4-ssec, a particularly good effort.

Waterfront was shading Bellaware in running three In 38 4-ssec, the first furlong in 12 4-ssec. Waterfront was In his element in the ground, but Bellaware was not suited by the heavy track. She is to race at Riccarton on Tuesday, and is in great order. Ibn, which has taken no harm from his winning run last week, was paired over a mile and a quarter with Flying York. They finished on terms, with Ibn doing the better, the last three In 42 2-ssec.

Chango, which should be a difficult horse to beat this week, went away from the mile and a quarter with General Bid. But at the home turn General Bid's saddle slipped, and he dropped his rider. Chango came home on his own, running the last three furlongs in 41 l-ssec, and the final two in 27 3-ssec.
