Paella Record
The chef at a well-known hotel at Tenerife in the Canary Islands aims to beat the world record for the wellknown Spanish dish, paella, by producing something that will satisfy 4000 guests. The giant pan which the chef, Mr J. L. Carbalias, will use is 33ft in diameter and sin high. Into it will go 176 gallons of broth, 8801 b of rice, 15401 b of chicken, 4401 b of squid and 2641 b of peas. When full the pan will weigh more than 13,2001 b.
