CABLEWAY PLAN
Application Approved
The Mount Cook National Park Board has approved in l principle an application to build an aerial cableway from the Hermitage to the Annette Plateau, in the Sealy Range. The Board approved the application, from the Mount Cook Aerial Cableway Investigating Company, Ltd, at its meeting during the weekend.
The managing director of the investigating company (Mr S. M. Andrews, of Christchurch) said he was very satisfied with the decision.
“But there is a very long way to go before we can say we are going, to build a cableway,” he said. The company now has to •negotiate with the board about terms and conditions for the operation of the acbleway if it is built
