Going Out Of Racing

INVERCARGILL. The InvercargUl trainer, R. E. Humphries, has decided to “give the racing game best.”
After the Southland Racing Club's meeting on Saturday he would finish training, and did not intend to renew his trainer’s licence, he said yesterday. Humphries had much success as a jockey, and* tn the last 20 years has .trained at Riccarton and Invercargill. He produced several capable gallopers in that period, including Segundo, Ronda, Great Match, Cherokee Braye, and. earlier, Water Boy, Royal Mail and Koxinga. Count O’Cally in Humphries’s team will be transferred to G. D. Lee’s Riccarton stable, and will be sold at the South Island sale at Christchurch in August. ,Two other members of Humphries's team, the two-year-old Bellborough filly, Maribelle, and the Better Honey colt, GauchOg will be offered at auction after the last race at Invetargill on -Saturday,
