New racer for Wylie
The 500 c.c. Lyster Matchless road racing motor-cycle which carried the Dunedin rider, N. Landrebe, to victory in the senior New Zealand grand prix at Easter will be appearing regularly in Christchurch competition next season. It has been
purchased by R. Harris and D. Wylie and will be raced by Wylie in all major events next season.
In the season recently completed Wylie finished fifth in the New Zealand 350 c.c. championship serie* on a B.S.A. provided and prepared by Harris. On the faster Matchless Wylie might be a strong contender for 500 c.c. championship honours. His greatest impression so far has been on the speedway track. He jointly holds the South Island sidecar championship with W. Philp, whom he rides aa passenger for.
