Notifiable Diseases
Six cases of infective hepatitis and three of salmonellosis were reported in the Christchurch health district last week,
This brought the total of hepatitis cases to 158 so far this year, compared with 215 for the whole of last year. The Medical Officer of Health, Dr L. F. Jepson, said, however, that the incidence of infective hepatitis was now declining. Three of last week’s cases were in the Wainoni-Aranui area, two being males in their twenties and one a child.
Standing Again.—Mr P. J. Wedderspoon, Democratic Labour candidate in the 1967 Palmerston North by-election is to stand for the seat again in this year’s General Elec-tion.—(P-A.).
