Education Post
Informing the public of the latest developments in education and school planning was most important, said the new regional superintendent of education in the South Island (Mr H. M. McMillan), who took up his post yesterday. He succeeds Mr S. S. P. Hamilton, who has retired to take a post as lecturer in the education department of the University of Canterbury. Mr McMillan was formerly senior inspector of primary schools in New Zealand. He said yesterday he planned to visit soon the southern part of his region, which took in all of the South Island except Nelson and Blenheim.
