Wilsons Road
Sir, —An excellent job of road widening has recently been completed on Fifield Terrace between Waltham Park and Ensors Road. It is a real pleasure to travel along this area now. May I ask when the narrow part of Wilsons Road from Waltham Park to Opawa Road is to be widened? To the best of my knowledge this strip was due to be widened at least 30 years ago. In fact, most of the house fronts have stood ready for a widened road all that time. Widening is definitely warranted, for it is a much used road and the Opawa Baptist Church and the nearby hall attract large crowds.—Yours, etc., WAITING. April 28, 1969. [The City Engineer (Mr P. G. Scoular) replies: “There are still about 16 properties from which widening is to be obtained on the west side of Wilsons Road. Construction is scheduled within the next five years and the actual time will depend on the availability of finance.”]
