Learmonth Trial
GV.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 12. The Supreme Court trial of Andrew Bernard Richard Learmonth, aged 31, builder’s labourer, on two charges of murder began in New Plymouth today before Mr Justice Roper and a jury of 12. Learmonth has pleaded not guilty to murdering Annie Laura Poutai and Hayward Matiu Poutai in New Plymouth on or about February 3.
Mr J. P.' Quilliam, with him Mr J. A. Laurenson, appears for the Crown. Mr N. R. Morgan, with him Mr P. J. Young, represents Learmonth.
