Several Increases In Export Schedules
Prices to farmers for all lamb skins and sheepskins rose on Monday. For sheepskins the rise is 12c a head. There was a similar rise a week ago. The movement reflects the strong market for pelts. Values for these skins to the farmer now range from 146 c for a hogget, wether or ewe with a lib wool puli to 207 c for a sheep with a 31b wool pull. The price for woolly lambs is increased from 8c to 16c a head, according to wool pull. Woolly lambskins will be worth from 131 c for a lamb with a IJlb wool pull to 210 c for a lamb with a 41b pull. The price for shorn lambskins go up 5c a head, the skin of a lamb with a jib wool pull being worth 93c and one with a 31b pull being worth 154 c. The improvement in the lambskin price is mainly attributable to the value of the wool.
The price for wether meat has also been raised. Primequality wethers up to 801 b and all second-quality wethers were deader by 1c per lb from Monday. There is no change for heavier prime wethers or overfat and export, manufacturing wethers. The wether prices are Prime: Up to 481 b, 7c per lb: 49 to 561 b, 6.25 c; 57 to 641 b, 4.75 c; 65 to 721 b, 3.40 c: 73 to 801 b, 2.50 c; 811 b and over, lc; overfat, Ic.
Second quality; Up to 481 b, 7c; 49 to 561 b, 6.25 c; 571 b and over, 3.80 c. Export manufacturing: In carcases, 3.75 c; for boning, lc.
There has also been an alteration in the beef schedule. The prices for boner cow, ox and heifer arid boner bull over 3751 b have been increased 50c to 1001 b. The new prices are: Boner Cow, Ox arid Heifer —I: $16.85; 2: $15.85. Boner 8u11.—2: $21.90; 3: $20.90.
