Help For Oily Hair

Hair that is too oily by nature needs fairly regular attention to keep its condition controlled and prevent the development of dandruff. One way to counteract the effects of overactive sebaceous glands is to grow the hair longer than usual. Short hair styles enable the grease to spread all too easily, and reach a “saturation" level far too quickly. There is a common fallacy that brushing hair actually makes it become oilier than ever. While too vigorous brushing is obviously to be avoided, a brief, once-a-day brushing routine must be commended, because it serves to spread the oil gathering at the roots further down the strands of hair. Now and then it is a very good idea to brush through the hair with the bristles covered in lint, which has been moistened with lemon skin freshener. This is a good way to pick up oil and dirt so that hair becomes clean and crisp. Take eare that hair preparations—and particularly hair sprays—do not contain lanolin. Lemon skin freshener is very good for using as a setting lotion for greasy hair. Since the hair will always need a shampoo at least twice a week, one of the shampoos specially suited to greasy tresses should be used to give the hair a naturally lovely sparkle. Apply the shampoo to dry hair first of all to shift stubborn oiliness. Then add water (taking care that it is lukewarm and never too hot) and rinse. Work up a second lather, leave it on the hair for several minutes, and then rinse very thoroughly with clear water.

Full Flavour.—Take the cheese out of the refrigerator at least an hour before you intend to eat it if you want it to develop its full flavour.
