Actress Weds Again

LAS VEGAS (Nevada), May 8. The actress, Lana Turner, married her seventh husband, the magician, Ronald Dante, at a 2 a.m. ceremony in Las Vegas today. Miss Turner, wearing a beige lace dress, and dark glasses, was married in the wedding chapel across the street from the court-house where she and her new husband received their marriage licence. Both are aged 49.
Friends of Miss Turner said they had met in a Los Angeles nightclub.
C.G.C. Public Speaking.— Miss Helen Richards (Methven Club) has won the pub-lic-speaking contest for the Christchurch area of Country Girls’ Clubs. Miss Richards spoke on the subject, “Femininity.” Miss Rachel Scott (Ellesmere) was second, with an address on the “History of Cosmetics." The judge was Mr T. M. Inch (RanjJjora).
