Poles Seek Asylum
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright)'
OSLO, May 9.
Twenty Poles, mostly young skilled workers, left the 14,287-ton Polish liner Batory in Oslo on Wednesday, and nine have asked for political asylum and labour permits. The police say they do not know where the other 11 are. The Batory cruised in the Oslo Fiord twice earlier this year, and on each occasion four passengers leapt overboard, swam ashore, and asked for political asylum, which was granted.
