Elections In
Malaysia
(N.Z.P.A.’Reuter—Copuriaht) KUALA LUMPUR, May 9.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia (Tunku Abdul Rahmar) and the main Opposition leader (Date Mohamed Asri) yesterday swore religious oaths that neither of their parties had accepted foreign money during the current Malaysian election campaign. The oath-swearing came on the eve of the general elections in which about three million Malaysians will go to the polls to elect representatives to the Federal Parliament and 12 State Legislatures.
The Tunku and Dato Asri, leader of the Pan-Malay Islamic Party (P.M.IT.), swore the oaths after accusations had been made that foreign funds were involved in the campaign.
