Red Cross Parade
Members of the North Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Red Cross representatives of the armed services and local bodies, attended the annual church parade of the centre at St Barnabas Church yesterday. The service was conducted by the Rev. R. A. Lowe, assisted by the Rt Rev. Monsignor G. V. Daly, who is a vicepresident of the centre executive committee. The offertory will be given to the Red Cross crippled children’s home at Changi, Singapore. The money has not yet been counted. The parade is held annually throughout the world to commemorate the birth of the founder of the movement, Henri Dunan.
