NEW SKYLINE FOR SYDNEY: A look into the next decade.—lmpressions of 10 major developments planned for central Sydney are superimposed on this photograph. At present the Australia Square tower, 565 ft above street level, is the city’s tallest building, but within 10 years there will be higher buildings. The key to the picture is: (1) The Qantas project in two tower sections, the taller 605 ft. (2) An additional A.M.P. building behind the present Circular Quay building. It will be 612 ft high. (3) A 437 ft building for an unnamed English developer. (4) A 435 ft redevelopment of the Australia Hotel site. (5) The new Church of England headquarters 500 ft high. It has yet to be approved by the City Commissioners. (6) A 430 ft redevelopment of the Adams Hotel-Royal Arcade site. (7) An A.M.P. complex, including an 850 ft tower with restaurant on top. (8) A proposed redevelopment of the Trocadero site. It will reach 393 ft and have five theatres. This scheme is not yet approved. (9) A Law Court building 300 ft high. (10) A Bank of New South Wales building of 393 ft.
