HOPE FOR THE FUTURE —The Mid-Soath Canterbury golf team has finished ahead of Canterbury in each of the last two Freyberg Rose Bowl contests and by Hooding players such as W.L. Maw (above) it is laying the foundation for future success. Maw, a strapping 19-years-old right-border from Timaru was not particularly successful in this year’s interprovincial tournament, but undoubtedly golfing ability lurks in his sturdy frame. With file benefit of wider experience, he might yet prove to be a trump card for his association.
