Firemen Stop Routine Work

WELLINGTON, May 9.
Wellington firemen decided at a meeting today to stop all routine work until such time as they receive from the Wellington Fire Board a satisfactory decision in regard to cleaning staff and wage loading for Wellington firemen,” a spokesman for the union said this afternoon.
The staff was still 24 short and could not hold its strength under present conditions, the spokesman said.
