WELLINGTON, May 8. The Institute of Directors, London, with nearly 50,000 throughout the United Kingdom and the British Commonwealth, has formed a New Zealand division. The members of the first divisional council elected •re:—
Chairman and president, Sir Clifford Plimmer (Wellington); deputy chairman, Mt L. M. Papps (Wellington); secretary-treasurer, Mr M. Y. Wails (Wellington); council members, Messrs K. C. Campbell (Wellington), D. N. Chambers (Auckland), J- N. C. Doig (Auckland), W. H. Masters (Dunedin), A. S, Paterson (Wellington), L. V. Phillips (Lower Hutt), J. Roy. smith (Christchurch), A. M. Satterthwaite (Christchurch), R. J. H. Seal (Auckland), and L. A. Sisam (Wellington). The aims of the Institute are to provide a local organisation for members of the Institute <rf Directors, to afford means of communication among members on matters affecting their joint and various interests, and to arrange meetings for the reading of papers and the discussion of facts connected with the duties and responsibilities of directors of companies.
