Barr Cup Matches
Papanui and Marist-West-era Suburbs, tw» dubs with strong chance# of teaching the Canterbury Rugby league premiership semi-finals, will meet at the Papanui Domain tomorrow in the preliminary lan Barr Memorial Cup match. The winner will play Hornby, the holder Since , 1959, later in the season in the final. Papanui will be favoured to win tomorrow after its convincing,, 3241, victory over Marist-Westera Suburbs in a club match two weeks ago. However, the margin should be considerably smaller this time because of Marist-West-ern Suburb’s improved form last Saturday when it upset Hornby. The rivalry between the two clubs will be increased by the transferring of , the. third grade match between Papanui and Marist-Western
Suburbs from this afternoon to act as tomorrow’s curtainraiser.
