Toastmasters’ Head To Visit City
The president of Toastmasters International (Mr E. M. Potter) will visitt Christchurch from May 19 to 21. The head of the non-profit toastmasters organisation, embracing more than 3500 elubs in 47 countries, is an American company executive.
A Toastmaster’s club is an organised group which prorides its members with. apre gramme to improve their abilities in communications and conducting meetings, M wdl as to develop their leadership and executive POtontUL Clubs have been established throughout New Zealand. Mr Potter, who will be accompanied by his wife, is an executive with the Monsanto Chemrial Company, St tools, Missouri. He previously served as training director for
that company. A graduate instructor for the Sales Analysis Institute, he has taught a comprehen-
sive course in human relations and motivation to many
groups of supervisory and administrative personnel. Mr Potter has been a Toastmasters’ club member for more than 12 years, and has served the organisation in every major club and district office. Elected to the International board in 1882, he was subsequently elected vicepresident for organisation and education. His other interests include participation in Scottish Rite Masonic organisations, and he is a paat vice-president of the East St Louis Chamber of Commerce. He will address a meeting of the Christchurch Toastmasters* Club on May 20.
